Meet Arcane Academy.
A student administration system for a school of magic. Four houses. A student roster. A spell library. And an Enrollment Ceremony that sorts you into a house. Silly on purpose — the architecture underneath is the same one you'd ship at work.
All TypeScript.
This is the actual app from the course, not a mockup. It goes live on Day 1.
On Day 4 you enroll yourself. The API writes to Postgres, and the house standings move because of you.

Not a sandbox. Real AWS, deliberately cheap: no NAT gateway, smallest Postgres. New AWS accounts get $100 in credits — and the things you build in this course earn up to $60 more.

This course makes zero architecture decisions. We picked one clean path and we walk it with you. Deciding between the options for your own app is a different skill — that's what our cohort course is for, and it's not this page's job to sell it to you.
